Every offshore oil and gas platform or drilling rig will have an emergency response team ready to act in the unfortunate event of an emergency situation. OPITO Offshore Emergency Response Team Member (OERTM) training provides the knowledge, skills and confidence to perform the role of an OERTM. OPITO OERTM Course

The aim and objectives of the OERTM Initial Training Programme are to equip the delegate with the necessary knowledge, understanding and skills to perform the role of Offshore Emergency Response Team Member effectively. The OERTM needs to be ready to act during an emergency, such as fire, gas leakage, or explosion, on an offshore installation or vessel. The training programme involves intensive fire fighting scenarios with real smoke and fire to prepare emergency response teams for real-life emergencies

Who can Study OPITO OERTM?

The target group for the OERTM Initial Training Programme is personnel who are appointed to, or to be appointed to, the role of an Offshore Emergency Response Team Member.

Prerequisites – OPITO OERTM Course:

  • Possess a valid offshore medical certificate or

  • Possess an operator-approved medical certificate or

  • Undergo medical screening via OPITO-provided form
